AI is changing what product analytics can do, and we want to lead that shift. As Head of - Product & Engineering Analytics, you’ll own our data strategy for Product & Tech (PTech) and lead the next chapter of product analytics at Personio: AI-first, agentic, and self-serve by design. You’ll partner closely with Product & Engineering leadership, and stay hands-on with the data yourself. This is a role for someone who wants to build the future of analytics, not just manage it.

Role Responsibilities: What you‘ll do

• Lead the next chapter of PTech analytics: Build and embed AI-powered, agentic tooling into how PTech works with data, making self-serve insight generation and automation the default, not the exception.

• Own the data strategy: Define and drive the data & analytics strategy for Product & Tech, ensuring it evolves alongside how Personio builds products.

• Guide the product lifecycle with data: Define how data is leveraged at each stage of the product development lifecycle, from discovery and opportunity sizing through to post-launch impact measurement.

• Build metrics frameworks: Define and maintain the metrics frameworks PTech teams use to define and measure success.

• Partner with product leaders: Work hand-in-hand with Product & Engineering leadership to ground strategy and roadmap decisions in data.

• Change the culture: Foster a data & measurement-driven culture across PTech, raising the bar on data literacy and self-serve capability.

• Lead & stay close to the work: Build and develop a high-caliber analytics team, while remaining hands-on enough to prototype, model and analyse alongside them.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

• 7+ years in analytics or data science, with at least 3 years experience leading a product analytics function (coaching, hiring, and growing teams)

• Direct, hands-on experience applying AI/LLMs to analytics workflows (e.g. natural-language querying, AI agents for insight generation, automated anomaly detection) that you’ve personally shipped, not just read about.

• Expert hands-on technical skills: SQL, Python/R, dbt or similar, plus fluency with BI tools (Looker, Tableau) and behavioral analytics platforms (Amplitude, Heap, Mixpanel). Snowflake experience is a plus.

• Strong track record defining metrics frameworks and success criteria for product organisations.

• Comfortable operating as a strategic partner to senior Product & Engineering stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills, able to bring both technical and non-technical audiences along on a change agenda.

• AI Fluency: You have hands-on experience using AI to improve your workflow, and the sound judgment to know exactly when to rely on it and when to step in yourself.

Job Overview

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who will own dbt Cloud in our organisation and maintain the analytics pipelines built on top of it. You will administer dbt Cloud across multiple independent projects, keep our business-critical pipelines running (including finance data models), and support analysts in other teams as a mentor and go-to person for dbt.

Our stack is Snowflake, dbt and AWS, with Python for tooling and automation. We are also building AI-assisted and agentic workflows into our daily work, and you will take an active part in this.

What will you do?

• Administer dbt Cloud for the whole organisation: project setup, environments, permissions, CI/CD, version upgrades and cost control
• Set up and support multiple independent dbt projects, define common standards and conventions so teams stay aligned
• Develop and maintain production dbt pipelines, including complex finance models where accuracy and trust are critical
• Mentor analysts on dbt, SQL modeling, testing and code review
• Tune Snowflake performance and cost, improve pipeline reliability and monitoring
• Build tooling and automation in Python (AWS Lambda, S3, orchestration, metadata workflows)
• Drive AI adoption in our analytics engineering work: build common AI skills for dbt development (documentation, testing, code generation) and automated agentic workflows that the whole team can reuse
• Follow current trends in AI tooling and agentic systems, evaluate new approaches and bring the useful ones into the team

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering or a similar role
• Strong hands-on dbt experience, ideally including dbt Cloud administration (projects, environments, jobs, CI/CD), not only model development
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Production experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and cost awareness
• Python for data tooling and automation
• Experience with AWS services used in data platforms (Lambda, S3)
• Experience owning business critical pipelines: data quality testing, incident handling, communication with non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with mentoring or supporting analysts
• Fluent English

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Strong understanding of agentic AI workflows: practical experience building LLM based agents, AI skills and automated workflows for engineering tasks
• Experience with multi-agent setups (orchestration of several agents, subagents, agent-to-agent handoffs)
• Good understanding of current trends in the AI space and ability to judge what is actually useful for a data team
• Experience with multi-project dbt setups (dbt Mesh, cross-project references or similar)
• Experience with finance or revenue data (reconciliation, reporting-grade accuracy)
• Background in gaming, mobile apps or other consumer product analytics
• Familiarity with marketing and attribution data (AppsFlyer) or product telemetry
• dbt certification

• Умение строить простые ML-модели (регрессия, классификация)

• Опыт работы с Hadoop/Hive/Spark

• Excel продвинутого уровня: сводные таблицы, составные формулы, ВПР, элементы прогнозирования

• Базовые навыки сборки pipeline/отчетов/дэшей; готовность работать с CI/CD
