Senior C++ Software Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior C++ Software Developer with strong expertise in C++ and the Qt Framework.

The position is based in Belgrade and follows a hybrid working model. The employee will work primarily from home but must be available to attend the Belgrade office regularly, potentially once a week, depending on project and team requirements.

Candidates should therefore be based in Belgrade or within a reasonable commuting distance.

About the role

We are seeking a highly capable software developer to contribute to the continued development, enhancement and maintenance of a sophisticated software platform.

The successful candidate will work on complex software components, participate in technical design decisions and take responsibility for delivering reliable, efficient and maintainable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Designing, developing, testing, integrating, maintaining and documenting robust, scalable and high-performance software solutions using modern C++ and the Qt Framework.
• Applying established principles of computer science, software engineering and mathematical analysis to design and implement sophisticated technical solutions.
• Participating as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the review of software architecture, technical designs, code quality and system components.
• Investigating, analysing and resolving highly complex technical challenges, requiring innovation, creativity and sound engineering judgement.
• Applying and promoting appropriate software development standards, coding practices, development methodologies, quality assurance processes and engineering tools throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborating closely with engineering, product management and technical leadership teams to understand customer requirements, identify pain points and develop effective technical solutions.
• Working with cutting-edge software technologies and hardware platforms in support of innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.
• Producing well-structured, maintainable, secure, efficient and thoroughly testable production-quality code.
• Supporting continuous integration, automated testing, debugging, performance optimisation and software release activities.
• Leading significant technical workstreams, software development activities and engineering projects where required.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring and knowledge sharing to other developers within the engineering team.
• Remaining abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends and software development best practices, proactively recommending improvements to products, development processes and technical architecture.
• Working collaboratively within a fast-paced, agile development environment while maintaining a strong focus on quality, delivery and business objectives.
• Undertaking such additional technical services, software development activities, deliverables and assignments as may reasonably be requested by the Customer's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), or such other authorised representative as the Customer may notify from time to time.

Essential requirements

• Extensive commercial experience developing software using modern C++ (C++17/C++20 preferred).
• Strong practical experience with the Qt Framework (Qt5 and/or Qt6), including user interface development and cross-platform application design.
• Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded and concurrent applications.
• Strong debugging, profiling and performance optimisation skills.
• Experience with Git or other distributed version control systems.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
• Professional working proficiency in both written and spoken English and Russian..
