Senior Backend Developer (Java)

About the team

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help develop and manage one of our key core teams.

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders (often engineers from other teams), design resilient distributed architectures, translate business requirements into clear technical tasks, conduct code reviews, and continuously improve the product. You will also contribute to coding, although hands-on development is not the primary focus of the role.

Responsibilities

• Analyze incoming requests for new features, validate them, and translate them into clear technical requirements aligned with product and business goals

• Collaborate with other development teams to ensure proper integration of solutions and reliable delivery of functionality

• Work with the project manager to define the technical approach to implementing tasks and align on timelines

• Participate in hiring: conduct technical interviews and help onboard new developers

• Oversee the design and development of backend and frontend components, ensuring architectural consistency of solutions

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of the team’s engineering practices.Hold regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews, and support the professional growth of the team

• Work with DevOps engineers on the release process and CI/CD setup.

What makes you the perfect fit

• 6+ years of experience in backend development

• 2+ years of experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager (architecture, team motivation, and growth)

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

• Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns and network protocols

• Clear understanding of the full software development lifecycle

• Strong backend development skills in Go or Java

• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins)

• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases

• Hands-on experience designing APIs and microservice architectures

• English proficiency at B1 level or higher

• Strong command of Russian is required

About the team

We are looking for a Unit Lead to take on technical and organizational leadership of the unit and grow it as a single platform rather than three separate teams. This is a "leader of leaders" role, with a focus on strategy, reliability, people, and processes. While you will manage team leads, we expect you to remain technically hands-on—deeply understanding our codebase, system design, and architecture. Key expectations are a strong engineering background in distributed systems, the ability to balance reliability, tech debt, and product work, and experience growing team leads.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap of the Hub unit, prioritization, and alignment of the three teams as a single platform.

• Dive deep into complex technical domains, working closely with Architects to resolve critical tech debt and optimize system performance.

• Manage the team leads of UDF, UDF Storage, and DevOps/SRE: development, goal setting, feedback, and growth through grades.

• Own platform reliability: SLO/SLA, availability and latency, on-call culture, incident reviews, and reducing incident count.

• Develop the Disaster Recovery / BCP direction: RTO/RPO, dual-hub and recovery scenarios, regular readiness checks.

• Own capacity planning and scaling, and operations on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.

• Run hiring, performance reviews, grade and compensation justifications, and engineer development within the unit.

• Work with stakeholders (product, adjacent clusters) and build cross-team coordination.

• Improve development and delivery processes: planning, metrics, quality, and requirements management.

What makes you the perfect fit

• Experience managing engineering teams, ideally managing team leads/managers (several teams simultaneously).

• Deep knowledge of Go (Golang) and readiness to read, review, and write code when resolving complex architectural issues.

• Strong System Design and Solution Architecture skills, with a solid understanding of OS and low-level technologies.

• Experience with high-load, low-latency services in production.

• Understanding of SRE practices: SLO/SLA, observability, incident management, on-call.

• Confident work with Kubernetes and cloud/container infrastructure.

• Ability to build hiring, review, and engineer growth processes.

• Systems thinking, comfort with ambiguity and prioritization.

• Working-level Russian and English (internal communication and documentation).

Will be a plus

• Experience in finance or trading domain

• Familiarity with TradingView as a product

• Hands-on experience with DR planning and capacity profiling.

• Experience consolidating or reorganizing several teams into a single unit.

• Familiarity with the technologies in the stack below.

Как мы работаем

• Spec-Driven Development. Сначала пишется спецификация, потом код. Вы не будете гадать, "что имел в виду заказчик": задача приходит с описанием.
• Проект полностью задокументирован. Онбординг — это чтение документации, а не археология по коду.
• Несколько тестовых контуров: для разработки, для QA и предрелизный. Ничего не уезжает в прод без проверки.
• Автотесты от QA-команды. Каждый релиз прогоняется регрессионными автотестами.
• CI/CD в GitLab. Сборка и деплой автоматизированы.
• Код-ревью. На старте ваш код ревьюит действующий разработчик: так проще и быстрее войти в проект.
• Инфраструктурой занимается DevOps. Вам не нужно писать манифесты и Helm-чарты, только уметь отлаживать свои сервисы в кластере.

Чем предстоит заниматься

• Разрабатывать новую backend-функциональность на Go по спецификациям.
• Поддерживать и развивать существующие сервисы: исправлять ошибки, рефакторить, улучшать производительность.
• Работать с Oracle: проектировать схемы, писать и оптимизировать запросы.
• Строить асинхронное взаимодействие между сервисами через Kafka.
• Писать и поддерживать unit- и интеграционные тесты.
• Участвовать в проработке спецификаций, архитектуры и контрактов между сервисами, взаимодействовать с менеджером проекта, аналитикой, QA и соседними командами (веб, мобайл).
• Участвовать в код-ревью и предлагать улучшения кода и процессов.

Кого мы ищем

• Опыт коммерческой разработки на Go от 2 лет.
• Хорошее понимание конкурентности в Go (goroutines, channels, context) и построения HTTP-сервисов и REST API.
• Уверенные навыки работы с реляционными БД и SQL. Опыт с Oracle — большой плюс, но его можно "дотянуть" в процессе, если есть сильная база в PostgreSQL или MySQL.
• Опыт работы с Kafka или другими брокерами сообщений.
• Опыт работы с Docker и Linux в повседневной разработке.
• Базовые навыки работы с Kubernetes для отладки: читать логи подов, пробрасывать порты (port-forward) к сервисам.
• Уверенная работа с Git и GitLab, понимание CI/CD.
• Практика написания тестов (unit, интеграционные).
• Готовность работать по спецификациям и поддерживать документацию в актуальном состоянии.
• Базовый английский для чтения документации.

Будет плюсом

• Опыт в финтехе или высоконагруженных проектах.
• Практический опыт с Oracle.
• Навыки проектирования надёжных и масштабируемых систем: кэширование, очереди, мониторинг.
