About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced Android Engineer to work on software products from a decentralized networking team. The role involves production Android development, UI/UX improvements, new features, performance optimization, bug fixing, unit tests, secure development practices, and documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Implement UI/UX improvements
• Drive development of new features
• Maintain privacy-preserving analytics tools
• Write unit tests and improve application reliability
• Fix bugs and improve application performance
• Follow secure software development practices
• Document work for long-term maintenance and reproducibility

Requirements:
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience building production Android applications
• Strong Kotlin programming skills
• Experience with Git and test-driven development
• Experience developing JavaScript web applications
• English at B2 level, for communication with stakeholders and team
• Availability for at least 2 hours on working days between 9am–5pm EST

Nice to have:
• Mobile web browser development experience
• Async JavaScript / Node.js / frontend development
• Network programming: HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP
• Decentralized / distributed networking technologies
• Interest in free and open-source software
