We are currently looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join a long-term banking project focused on financing processes for consumer and framework loans in retail banking.

📍 Location: EU only
🏢 On-site: once a week in the Budapest office
🇬🇧 Language: English required
🇩🇪 German: nice to have

Technology Stack
— Angular (SPA)
— Java
— Camunda Process Engine
— REST APIs / Backend Services
— Microservices
— Distributed system landscape
— Test automation

MUST HAVE
— Several years of hands-on experience with Angular in a current production stack
— Strong experience with REST API integration
— Experience working in complex distributed system landscapes with end-to-end flows and multiple interfaces
— Experience with Camunda or a comparable workflow / process engine
— Strong full-stack background with Java / Microservices
— Ability to independently design and implement complete features
— Senior-level engineering experience
— Experience with test automation tools such as JMeter, Playwright, or Tosca
— Ability to work from the European Union
— Availability to be onsite in Budapest once per week

Nice to Have
— CI/CD experience with Git, Jenkins, OpenShift
— Previous experience in banking / financial services
— German language skills

About the Project
You will work on a complex retail banking platform supporting financing processes for consumer and framework loans.
The role involves working across frontend, backend, APIs, workflow orchestration, and distributed system integrations. The team is looking for a senior engineer who can take ownership of features and work independently in a complex enterprise environment.

Project Responsibilities

Develop and maintain frontend functionality using Angular.
Analyse the existing frontend implementation and reverse-engineer current product behaviour.
Support migration of existing functionality to the new platform.
Build reliable and maintainable production-ready frontend components.
Investigate and resolve issues in the existing application.
Work with backend engineers and Engineering Managers on API integration and technical solutions.
Document technical findings and implementation decisions.
Independently investigate unfamiliar parts of the codebase and propose solutions.
Participate in technical discussions with Engineering and Product teams.

Candidate's Portrait

8-10 years of commercial software development experience. Target level: strong Senior engineer.
Previous experience working on enterprise software / enterprise IT systems is mandatory.
Strong computer science / computational foundation and solid problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently with unfamiliar and complex production codebases.
Strong reverse-engineering, debugging and code-analysis skills.
Able to understand requirements from existing code and system behaviour, document findings and propose a solution without detailed step-by-step guidance.
Good understanding of secure, reliable and maintainable enterprise software development practices.
Able to clearly communicate technical ideas, findings and decisions in English.
Construction / construction-tech domain experience is NOT required; it is only a plus.
No DevOps/infrastructure delivery is expected. Basic cloud understanding and the ability to inspect logs / troubleshoot deployed code are expected.
Candidates should be comfortable learning and using unfamiliar libraries or tools when required.

Must-haves

8+ years of commercial software development experience.
Strong commercial Angular experience.
Strong JavaScript / TypeScript fundamentals.
Enterprise software / enterprise IT systems experience.
Experience with large and complex production codebases.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand existing code and independently identify implementation approaches.
Understanding of secure and reliable enterprise software development practices.
English B2+.

Nice-to-have

Legacy frontend modernisation / migration experience.
Experience integrating with microservices-based backend systems.
AWS or general cloud knowledge.
Experience with algorithmically complex enterprise applications.
Construction-tech or construction domain experience.
